This unit is designed for students of all experience levels in creative writing. New writers are especially welcome! The unit will give students the opportunity to experiment with different narrative forms, styles, and genres in a supportive environment. Each lecture will consist of short writing exercises (“sprints”) followed by a workshop format centered on the work generated by the in-class exercises. Students may also expand on their in-class work and bring in updated pieces for additional feedback over the course of the semester. Students are highly encouraged to both share their work and give thoughtful feedback to each other during the workshop section of class. The lectures are interactive and students are encouraged to actively participate.
The unit will focus mostly on narrative writing, but any kind of creative writing is welcome. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with different forms, styles, and genres, and their specific interests will be supported by the instructor.
Semester 1
Theory of music is an important part of learning to play an instrument. This course is intended for beginners, and lessons will involve easy-to-understand explanations of all basic theory concepts.
The student will learn how to read music fluently and be prepared to start practical lessons quickly.

The University Ensemble provides a high-quality performing experience for musicians. The Ensemble meets every week for rehearsing sessions.
Students are given the opportunity to experience an array of musical genres and styles ranging from arrangements of well-known pieces to jazz and contemporary music.
Semester 2
This DGP unit is designed for students who wish to become more knowledgeable and more articulate about how to form a surer and sounder judgment about films they watch. How does a Hollywood blockbuster differ from a New Wave South Korean masterpiece? How does a European art-house film differ from an American Indie film? How is a story told through the language of film?
How does cinematography influence perception of images? How does film music affect us emotionally? Are we being guided or manipulated in understanding the filmmaker? What about editing? Does it impact our sensorial experience at all? Sessions also include viewing relevant film clips.
Semester 1
In the course introduction to theatre participants create their own work with body movement, deconstructed texts and voice work surrounding a concept of their choice. Workshops are conducted in a collective, collaborative atmosphere.
Semester 1
In this unit, students will learn the fundamentals of how to write a story for a feature film (live or animation), a short, a documentary, and television drama/sitcom. Topics explored include screenwriting fundamentals (such as conflict, story structure), finding the story spark and discovering what you want to say (theme), creating compelling characters, implementing visual storytelling, crafting well-constructed scenes utilizing POV, dialogue, structure and style and understanding the basic formatting of a script.
Semester 1, Semester 2
This study unit explores a playful approach the intersection of movement, rhythm, and body percussion, using dance improvisation and traditional rhythms from various cultures. Students will delve into a variety of ways of experimentation through movement and rhythm. Students will engage in a physical and auditory dialogue, exploring kinesthetic possibilities by responding to rhythm and sound. Peer learning will enhance responses to rhythm, movement, and sound by fostering presence and cultivating creative contributions to the overall soundscape and movement experience. We will develop our reflexes, explore the difference between active and passive availability of the body, cultivate sensitivity, coordination, and creativity. This movement practice also has therapeutic benefits and can be of interest to students in any area of study, including medicine, sport, and the arts.
Semester 1
This study-unit aims to help participants develop a variety of practical skills used in various stages of the construction of clothing.
Students are introduced to the basic principles of garment-making firstly by analysing different ready-made patterns available in paper and digital form and discussing various ways to adapt and modify patterns to suit various figure types.
Then the course takes a hands-on approach whereby participants are taught to construct a selection of textiles samples using some basic sewing techniques.
Semester 2
This course is designed to provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required in fashion design and garment construction. Through a combination of hands-on activities and creative learning experiences, participants develop confidence while gaining essential technical and design competencies in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Learn the art of modern calligraphy from the ground up! In this unit, you will begin with the fundamental strokes and gradually build your skills to create stunning hand lettering. You will explore various styles, embellishment techniques, and surface options, allowing you to add a unique personal touch to your work.
Semester 2
In this study-unit, students from different backgrounds are introduced to the basics of creating digital environments. As part of the study-unit, students will be able to experiment with interactive experiences and the tools required to make content for digital environments and digital games. A range of themes is tackled throughout the semester, each of which will be explored with a small group project. The students will learn the basics of the Unity and the Unreal game engine and how to craft digital environments by arranging simple geometry, images, and video footage.
