The training programme will provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to design and deliver a COIL activity in collaboration with an academic from another SEA-EU partner university.

Participants will be expected to attend all four training sessions and, following completion of the programme, develop and implement a COIL activity within one of their study-units in collaboration with an academic from another SEA-EU partner university.

Applicants must be resident academics at the University of Malta and must be in a position to implement a COIL activity within a study-unit in collaboration with an academic from another SEA-EU partner university. 

Applicants must also: 

• Be responsible for teaching one or more study-units.
• Be available to attend all four training sessions.
• Commit to developing and implementing a COIL activity with a SEA-EU partner following completion of the training.

Applications that do not meet these eligibility requirements will not be considered.

Selection Criteria:

Eligible applications will be assessed out of a total of 10 points.

The assessment will be based on the following criteria:

1. Teaching responsibility: Applicant is responsible for teaching one or more study-units.
   (Mandatory requirement)
2. Commitment to implement a COIL activity during the 2027/2028 academic year: The applicant commits to developing and implementing a COIL activity following completion of the training. (4 marks)
3. Identified SEA-EU academic partner: The applicant has identified an academic from a SEA-EU partner university with whom they intend to develop the COIL activity. (3 marks)
4. Potential student reach : Estimated number of students expected to participate in the proposed COIL activity:

• Up to 30 students (1 mark)
• 31-75 students (2 marks)
• More than 75 students (3 marks)

• The name of the study-unit(s) in which the COIL activity will be implemented.
• The name and institution of the proposed SEA-EU academic partner.
• The estimated number of students expected to participate.
• A brief statement (maximum 200 words) outlining how the applicant intends to implement the COIL activity following completion of the training.

Friday, 13 November 2026: 10:00–12:00 CET

Friday, 20 November 2026: 10:00–12:00 CET
