These collaborations aim to support community-focused initiatives and ensure that university expertise contributes directly to addressing societal challenges and local needs.
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore potential initiatives that encourage collaboration between their departments, community organisations and public stakeholders. The workshop aims to support the development of sustainable partnerships that facilitate mutual learning, knowledge exchange and meaningful engagement, while creating opportunities for communities to benefit from the University’s expertise, learning opportunities and research.
The workshop will also include contributions from academics who have been involved in outreach and community engagement initiatives. They will share examples from their own experience, including how partnerships were developed, the challenges they encountered, what worked well, and the lessons they learned along the way.
Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss the practical challenges involved in developing outreach initiatives and consider how the C2C Directorate can support them in taking their ideas forward.
