½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ Futsal launches Men’s and Women’s Teams for the new season

has officially launched its new season, presenting its men’s and women’s squads and unveiling the kits that the teams will wear as they represent the University of Malta on and off the court.

The launch, hosted by popular presenter Frank Zammit brought together club officials, coaches, players, partners, members of the media and supporters to set out the club’s vision for the season ahead. Four players presented the new kits during the event, while the full men’s and women’s squads were formally announced.

The club enters the season with a clear emphasis on unity, continuous improvement, ambition and pride in representing the University of Malta. Returning players will form the backbone of the squads, alongside new players who will bring fresh energy and further strengthen the teams.

“It is a genuine honour for us to represent the University,” said Jackie Abdilla, Women’s Coach. “This season brings together the experience of our returning players and the enthusiasm of those joining us for the first time. By welcoming new players and new teams into the futsal family, we can create more opportunities and support the continued growth of the sport, particularly women’s futsal.”

“We want to be a strong and united team,” said Cristian Castagna, Men’s Coach. “Everyone is important, but the team must always come first. We will respect every opponent, but we will not be afraid of anyone. Our aim is to represent the University of Malta with pride.”

Mr Pierre Cassar, the Director of ½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ's Marketing, Communications & Alumni Office, echoed the sentiments. “With representation comes also responsibility. The University encourages you to wear its colours with pride!” Speaking at the ERIL Building at the University, Mr Cassar mentioned “that it’s always a pleasure to welcome ½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ Futsal home.”

Club Vice-President said that the club is looking forward to welcome more students. “Students can have an active part as administrators, volunteers, and supporters. This is a University team, and we are glad that we are able to participate in the National Futsal Leagues. Many students have already been part of this journey, and we’re always looking for more!”

As a University club, ½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ Futsal remains open to students who wish to become involved. Those interested in volunteering, supporting club events or contributing administratively are encouraged to contact the club.
