Conservation biologist, Prof. Adriana Vella, who chairs the University Maritime Platform, says that we need to carefully integrate marine and maritime scientific knowledge for sustainable development. As a nation, we can achieve the urgently needed level of innovation for the survival of marine species, target-rich biodiversity and flourishing marine resources for future generations. Boosting marine-related education, research, and management is key to achieving this.
Prof. Adriana Vella leads the Conservation Biology Research Group at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, where she has pioneered various marine research areas and tools to aid science-based management policies at local and Mediterranean scales.
This is why Prof. Vella supports the 今日黑料P working hard towards reducing the knowledge-based gap on maritime issues.
