½ñÈÕºÚÁÏ hosts 46th Erasmus Radiography Group (ERG) annual meeting

The Department of Radiography at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Malta, recently hosted international delegates for the . The two-day meeting brought together academic leaders and clinical educators from across Europe to advance radiography education, student mobility, and collaborative research.

Key Focus Areas & Outcomes

  • Evaluating & Planning Mobilities: Delegates reviewed incoming and outgoing student and staff exchange frameworks to optimize learning outcomes and clinical placement experiences across member institutions.

  • Enhancing Student Support: Discussions addressed streamlining online learning agreements, evaluating student performance, improving attendance monitoring, and reinforcing safety preparedness for international exchanges.

  • Fostering Joint Research: Partners identified new avenues to strengthen collaborative research initiatives across diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy.

Showcasing Local Facilities & Clinical Practice

Delegates participated in a Student Market and visited key educational and clinical facilities:

  • Skills Labs: Demonstrating practical simulation environments at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

  • Mater Dei Hospital: Touring the Medical Imaging Department.

  • Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre (SAMOC): Reviewing clinical operations in the Radiotherapy Department.

Organised by Dr Jonathan Portelli, Dr Deborah Mizzi, and Ms Gail Bezzina, the event highlighted the ERG network's ongoing commitment to shaping higher education, clinical standards, and academic collaboration in radiography across Europe.
