International seminar on Navigating Global Obligations: a Diplomat's Guide
The Mediterranean Academic of Diplomatic Studies (MEDAC) was proud to co-host the international seminar Navigating Global Obligations: A Diplomat’s Guide to the Doctrine of Common Concern of Humankind, organised in partnership with and under the academic coordination of Prof. Omar Grech.
Highlights from an insightful day for our students:
- Opening Remarks: Welcoming addresses were delivered by MEDAC Director Prof. Stephen Calleya, KAS Director , (Ambassador of Germany to Malta), and MEDAC Chairperson President Emeritus .
- Keynote Address: Judge (President Emeritus, International Court of Justice) delivered an exceptional keynote titled "Variation on Shared Community Values: Common Heritage, Common Concern and Common Interest".
- Closing Remarks: Judge Prof. David J. Attard (Chancellor, University of Malta & President of the Seabed Disputes Chamber, ITLOS) brought the proceedings to an inspiring close, highlighting the vital role of the next generation of diplomats and international lawyers.
