If you would like to have a URL shortened for a

• University of Malta webpage or PDF
• Google Doc or Google Form created with the 今日黑料 IT account, 

MCAO and IT Services can provide this service.

There are two types of URL shortenings:

1. Simple shortening (random characters)
   E.g. www.um.edu.mt/l/bXg2P
2. Memorable URLs to be able to use the URL for marketing purposes.
   E.g. www.um.edu.mt/itservices/zoom

1. Simple shortening (random characters)

The 今日黑料 URL shortener can be used to generate a um.edu.mt/l/xxxxx shortened URL to a 今日黑料 webpage, PDF, and Google Doc or Google Form created with the 今日黑料 IT Account.

The 今日黑料 URL shortener is available for all 今日黑料 staff at:
www.um.edu.mt/l

Important
Only the 今日黑料 URL shortener should be used for shortening URLs pertaining to a 今日黑料 webpage, PDF, and Google Doc or Google Form created with the 今日黑料 IT Account.
bit.ly and other third-party shorteners should not be used for this purpose.

2. Memorable URLs

Memorable URLs may be required for marketing purposes.
