Applications are invited for the post of Laboratory Officer in the Department of Biology within the Faculty of Science.

Salary Details
The salary attached to the post for 2026 is €24,716, rising by annual increments of €400 up to a maximum of €27,516. On completion of four years of service in this grade, the appointee will be entitled to move on to the next salary band with annual increments of €440 up to a maximum of €29,373. After a further period of two years, the appointee will, on satisfactory performance, be entitled to move on to the next salary band with annual increments of €450 up to a maximum of €33,381. After a further period of two years, the appointee will, on satisfactory performance, be entitled to move on to the next salary band with annual increments of €500 up to a maximum of €33,494, on satisfactory performance.

The appointee will be required to assist in the upkeep and day-to-day running of microbiology laboratories, to support academic and research staff in carrying out experimental and research work in the Department of Biology. The appointee will be required to assist academic staff and students in the preparation and execution of practical sessions and dissertation projects.
