Dr. Jes Grixti serves as a Visiting Senior Lecturer within the Department of Arts, Open Communities & Adult Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Malta. His research interests are twofold. He is an internationally acclaimed composer, recognized for his award-winning works, which have been performed at esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, The Arts Centre in Mexico City, and the Ghione Theatre in Rome. Additionally, his research encompasses music education, community music, and the role of infromal and nonformal music education as a vehicle for promoting equality and equity in society. He primarily utilizes a qualitative approach in his research. Furthermore, Jes holds the position of head of the national school of music.
