Self-paced course on integrating sustainability launched for staff as a pilot

Maltese researchers Prof. Paul J. Pace, Dr Jane Spiteri, and Ms Lucia Azzopardi have launched a pilot course for educators and staff on integrating sustainability in education institutions. The course is part of the Erasmus+ project (SUSEDI).

The SUSEDI course takes the form of a self-paced open online course, which will be accompanied by two online workshops. Its curriculum is based on the European Union’s Green Competence framework (GreenComp) and is separated into four thematic areas: Embodying Sustainability Values, Embracing Complexity in Sustainability, Envisioning Sustainable, and Acting for Sustainability.

By the end of the course, participants will have:
• A clear understanding of the GreenComp Framework,
• Practical tools for implementing sustainability in their institution,
• Confidence in applying a Whole Institution Approach to Sustainability,
• Strategies for engaging stakeholders,
• Examples of real-world sustainability initiatives, and
• A stronger sense of their own agency and leadership role.
