Applications open for the 76th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (Physiology/Medicine)

The University of Malta is inviting applications from outstanding early-career researchers to represent the University and Malta at the 76th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (Physiology/Medicine), one of the world's most prestigious gatherings for young scientists.

Held annually in Lindau, Germany, the meeting brings together Nobel Laureates and around 600 exceptional young researchers from across the globe for a week of scientific exchange, networking and collaboration. The successful University of Malta candidate will receive funding to cover travel, accommodation and conference registration fees.

Former University of Malta participants have described the experience as career-changing. Tatiana Morais, Malta's representative at the 2023 Physiology and Medicine meeting, called Lindau "possibly the best experience I ever had at a conference", highlighting the opportunity to interact directly with Nobel Laureates and researchers from around the world.

The University is seeking candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, a passion for research, and the ability to serve as ambassadors for science and for the University of Malta within the international scientific community.

Applications will not normally be accepted from researchers who:

• will be over 35 years of age at the time of the meeting;
• have held a resident academic position for more than one year; or
• have previously participated in a Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting.

Eligible early-career researchers are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity to engage with Nobel Laureates, build international collaborations and showcase Maltese research on the global stage.
