80 new COST Actions have been approved from the COST Open Call 2025

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Actions are four-year research and innovation networks that support collaboration among researchers, industry, public authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders across Europe and beyond.

Participation provides opportunities for networking, training schools, short-term scientific missions, workshops, conferences, and the development of future Horizon Europe and other European-funded collaborations. It also offers valuable opportunities to establish partnerships with international companies, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and leading research organisations. It is important to note that the funding that a COST Action receives, covers the expenses of networking activities rather than research.

Many of the newly approved Actions are highly relevant to the Maltese research and innovation ecosystem, covering areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies, Medicine and Public Health, Environmental Sustainability, Agriculture and Food Systems, Cultural Heritage, Social Sciences, and other emerging research and innovation fields. These interdisciplinary networks create opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of innovative solutions to societal and industrial challenges.
