, Head of the and , Senior Lecturer in the , have teamed up to present a paper at the international Conference: 鈥楢nnie Ernaux: Global Perspectives鈥 at the University of Edinburgh and the University of St Andrews.
Their joint presentation, entitled 鈥楾eaching and Translating Annie Ernaux鈥檚 '尝鈥櫭﹙茅苍别尘别苍迟' in the Maltese context鈥, which explored the significance of their professional engagement with this French writer鈥檚 work as well as its specific challenges, was enthusiastically received by the academic community.
Ernaux received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2022 鈥渇or the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory鈥. The conference included a live virtual encounter with the author herself, who responded to a number of questions.
