More qualified proofreaders of Maltese
42 new proofreaders were recently awarded the Certificate of Proofreading in Maltese (MQF 5) from the Department of Maltese at the University of Malta, and the official Maltese proofreading warrant from the National Council for the Maltese Language. The new qualified proofreaders include educators, journalists, translators, communication officers, local councils clerks, and employees from the private sector. In all 772 proofreaders have successfully completed this university course since it started twenty years ago.
This one-year part-time course is organised by the Department of Maltese, within the Faculty of Arts, with the support of the Maltese Language Council. All lessons are carried out online twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and the exams are held in class. If you would like to refine your Maltese writing, you can apply for the next course commencing in February 2026 online by 30 January at 14:00.
