| DESCRIPTION | This study unit gives credit to the students’ field experience in the MRO sector. Students will be given tasks typical of entry level shopfloor employees which they will be required to execute under supervision. At the end of the study unit, students are required to submit a portfolio, which also includes log entries of the tasks they will have carried out, describing the tasks assigned to them, how they have been carried out, and the lessons learnt from these tasks. The portfolio will be a reflective activity where the students can relate their practical experience to their academic achievements. Study-Unit Aims: - To provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their academic achievement - To relate academic knowledge to their work experience Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Obtain a practical experience that they will be able to apply during their carreer. - Explain and communicate the type of activities that they have carried out during their experience - Explain the on-the-job safety practices exercised by MRO Organisations. - Discuss their academic interests and bridge their academic know-how with work experiences - Discuss their academic achievements and limitations 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - Apply the achieved scientific knowledge to their day-to-day activities - Take better technical decisions - Take better managerial decisions in the context of MRO operations - Apply knowledge to operate in a safer and more rigorous manner - Demonstrate the academic achievement for their professional progression |
