Two public lectures by Prof. Wang Wenjing (Xiamen University, China):
Wenjing Wang is an Assistant Professor in the School of History and Cultural Heritage at Xiamen University. She received her BA in Archaeology from Jilin University and her PhD in Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh, and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at George Mason University. Her research focuses on Neolithic archaeology, settlement patterns, ceramic craft production, and the development of early complex societies in China. Combining archaeological fieldwork, ceramic analysis, and quantitative methods, she examines how production, exchange, and ritual practices shaped social organisation. Her current work includes comparative research on the Lingjiatan and Hongshan societies and studies of pottery production and distribution in northern Fujian and Zhejiang. |
