Event: A Collaborative Exhibition between the Australian High Commission and The Islands and Small States Institute
Date: Wednesday 4 November 2026
Time: 11:00-12:00
Venue: Main Library
The Islands and Small States Institute (ISSI) and the Australian High Commission have collaborated on the photographic exhibition ‘Climate Change in the Pacific and Beyond’, which will be held between 20 October and 12 November 2026 at the Main Library of the University of Malta from 07:00 and 20:00 on weekdays and 9:00-12:15 on Saturdays.
Small island nations, like those in the Pacific and Mediterranean, are among the most vulnerable to climate change, with Small Island Developing States (SIDS) often disproportionately impacted. Through photography, this exhibition highlights the impact of climate change and climate action in the Pacific and other small island states., presenting insight into both the vulnerability and resilience of islands, and examples of how communities are working to respond to the climate crisis.
The officiation ceremony will be held on 4 November 2026. This will include insightful speeches from acknowledged experts, Prof. Charles Galdies and Prof. Stefano Moncada, as well as the Australian High Commissioner to Malta, H.E. Matt Skelly, and Rector, Prof. Frank Bezzina.
