Dr Attard invited to lecture by Brazilian Federal Court and Brazilian Congress
Dr Felicity G. Attard, Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Law, was invited by the Brazil’s Federal Regional Court of the Second Region (TRF2) in Rio de Janeiro and the Regional Federal Judicial School of the Second Region to deliver a lecture on legal response strategies to protect human dignity at sea.
The lecture took place on the 20 October in the Sala de Sessões do Centro Cultural da Justiça Federal.
Dr Attard was introduced by Judge Fabricio Fernandez and Judge Guilherme Calmon who moderated the session. She was also invited by Wagner Menez, Professor of International Law at the University of São Paulo to deliver a lecture on the protection of the right to life at sea at the VII Brazilian Congress on the Law of the Sea held in Natal on 24 October.
Each lecture was followed by a lively and engaging Q&A session. Both lectures were well attended and positively received by judges, ambassadors, academics, members of the navy and students.
