The 10th season of the Institute for European Studies' research seminar series

The Institute for European Studies, in collaboration with the Department of International Relations within the Faculty of Arts, launched its research-in-progress seminar series for 2026/27 on Friday, 30 October. The series, titled 'Ideas in Brown Bags', is now in its tenth year.

The seminar was delivered by Dr Ragnar Weilandt, a lecturer within the Institute, on the topic 'The EU and dissensus in post-2018 Armenia'. The seminar was chaired by Dr Valentina Cassar from International Relations.

Over the last ten years, the series has been an opportunity for academics and PhD students to discuss their research. Topics covered a number of themes including: neutrality and defence acquisition; investment migration; data and governance; foreign policy and ethics; socio-political research; human rights and regional studies; economic statecraft and debt.

Those interested to attend or to present can contact Dr Weilandt, Research Coordinator, by email.
