PRE-RIGHTS is a transnational project funded by the European Union’s Justice Programme 2014-2020 (Grant Agreement no. 831616), under the JUST-JCOO-AG-2018 call with a total budget of EUR 806.673,00.
The PRE-RIGHTS project aims at promoting a balanced approach to judicial and police cooperation, in line with the provisions of the EU’s Security Agenda on prevention. It focuses on improving the coherence between the new hybrid investigations in the “intelligence-led police approach” and the EIO/EAW, avoiding excessive de-juridicalisation, as well as the compatibility of preventive security measures in prisons with the spirit and provisions of Framework Decisions 2008/909/947/829/JHA, in order to avoid de-socialisation. The project also addresses the problems and needs with a judicial perspective that aligns with the international standards concerning the protection of fundamental rights and taking into account the Brexit transition.
